Design ThinkingDesign thinking is introduced to teach campers to use a systematic process to understand people and situations, define problems, and come up with innovative solutions. Challenges are given to campers as they work through the steps of the design thinking process: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
RoboticsUse a variety of robots such as Sphero, Ozobots, and Dot & Dash to complete challenges. Campers will code their robots to accomplish increasingly complex tasks using line drawing and block coding.

Stop Motion AnimationStop motion animation (also called stop frame animation) is animation that is captured one frame at time, with physical objects that are moved between frames. When you play back the sequence of images rapidly, it creates the illusion of movement. Campers will write scene scripts and plan animations by visually laying out a scene frame by frame so the viewer understands the story or concept as it unfolds. We will capture the video using streamlined stop animation video software.

The Academy Camp will provide students with the opportunity to use their imaginations in a fun, engaging manner while participating in real world challenges.
Campers will collaborate to experiment, play, create, construct, and deconstruct while utilizing the hands-on application of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
The Academy Summer Camp sessions will utilize hands-on learning activities which may include Design Thinking, Cardboard Design, Maker Camp Challenges, Stop Motion Animation, Robotics, and Escape Room Challenges, depending on the age of the camper.
